Springerize your Cars!
With Spring now in full force the experts at AAMCO Transmissions of Puget Sound would like to help you all Springerize your cars. Springerizing your car will not only make it run better for you day to day, but it will do so without breaking your wallet. And in an economy like this one, who’s going to argue with that?!
My first tip to Springerize you car is to check your tires. Check the air pressure and of course everyday wear and tear. Ensuring that your tires have the right amount of air pressure in them will help conserve gas. The easier it is for your car to drive on the road, the less power it will use, making it use less gas to perform efficiently.
Since we are on the subject of tires, my next tip is to check your brakes. Mud and debris can easily get caught in your brakes making them work harder ultimately decreasing their life span. We all know how rough of a winter we had this season, so getting your brakes checked before Spring is a good idea to prevent any mishaps from occurring in the months to come.
If you are taking your car in to get the brakes checked, my next tip is to get a tune-up while you’re there. Most experts say that every vehicle should get a tune-up every 30,000 miles in order to keep the vehicle running efficiently. Car experts agree that the people who get their vehicles service regularly enhance the performance of their automobile, thus keeping more dollars in your pocket not only in gas savings, but in future costly repairs as well.
My next tip to Springerize your car is to check all fluids under the hood. If it has been more than 3,000 since your last oil change, it is extremely important to get one ASAP. The life of your engine depends on the oil, so as long as you get your oil changed every 3,000 miles you will be saving money in the end because you will never have to worry about replacing your engine.
While you are under your hood, my next tip is to examine the belts and hoses. You want to check these hoses not only for connection problems, but also plain old wear and tear. Along with examining the belts and hoses, make sure to take a glance at those spark plugs too. Worn out spark plugs can negatively affect how your vehicle burns through fuel.
Now that your car is ready to run properly for Spring all you need to do now is simply clean it up! So get out there and enjoy the beautiful Spring weather, if it ever gets here.
